AGNES MARIE SHINN Agnes Marie (Gregor) Shinn, 92, was called home to our Lord on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020 at her home in Harrah. She was born on Oct. 28, 1928 in Kiowa, OK to the late Frank and Annie Gregor. She was raised in Atoka, OK with her six siblings, Frances, Katherine, Edith, Charles, Frankie and Henry. Agnes attended a two-room school in the Reynolds community where she attended until she completed eighth grade. As a child, she helped her dad on the farm by running a plow with the mules. At the age of 16, she married Vernon Grant Shinn on November 18, 1944. The couple later moved to Oklahoma City and started their family of six children: Joyce, Juanita, Janette, Vernon, Floyd and Roy. During this time, they also started their ministry and were devoted to helping anyone in need. They also spent a lot of their time working in their upholstery business. They eventually moved to Harrah in 1976, where she helped build their forever home. In 1987, they adopted Vernon the II. Agnes raised many children, grandchildren and even those who weren’t hers. She also raised Floyd (Wayne) Shinn, Jr. until his death in 1989. She had a love and passion for taking care of people. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking and canning and reading in her Bible daily. Agnes continued to devote her time to volunteering at the Luther Community Center and her local church. Agnes is preceded in death by husband Vernon Grant Shinn; two brothers, Frankie Gregor and Charles Gregor; three sisters, Frances Smith, Katherine Lowe and Edith Gregor; a grandson, Floyd (Wayne) Shinn Jr.; two great-grandsons, Nathan Shinn and William Lemaster. She is survived by brother Henry Gregor of McAlester, OK; three daughters, Joyce Morton of Wellston, Juanita and husband Russell Saar of Harrah and Janette and husband Benny Pannell of McLoud; four sons, Vernon Shinn of Harrah, Roy Shinn of Harrah, Floyd Shinn of Harrah and Vernon and wife Crystal Shinn II of Harrah; 26 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren and 14 nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at noon at First Assembly of God Church, Harrah, with Pastor Jonathan Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Ferrell Cemetery under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah. Condolences and tributes may be posted on the funeral home web-site www.asasmith.net
