Allen Arthur Quirk Sr.

Allen Arthur Quirk Sr, of McLoud, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 62. Allen was born on June 26, 1960, on Offutt Air Base in Nebraska. He was the son of Frederick Lawrence and Mary Edith (Heath) Quirk. Allen grew up in Minnesota and at the age of 8, the family moved to McLoud, Oklahoma. Allen attended McLoud Public Schools.

When he was five years old, Allen met Mary Jane Koszara and the two became friends throughout their time in school. After high school, the two started dating and decided to spend their lives together. The couple were married in 1979 and made their home in McLoud. Together, they raised four children and were happily married for 43 years.

Allen was a builder by trade. There was not much in building construction that he was not able to do. The Oklahoma City, Shawnee and surrounding areas are full of buildings that his skilled hands and hard work were apart of.

Allen enjoyed spending time outdoors. He and his family regularly took floating trips down the Illinois River or weekends camping out at Sulpher. He loved to tend to his garden, making homemade wine. You would also find him on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, watching his favorite football teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners.

Allen was a loving man, he loved his family, his work and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Edith Quirk and two brothers, Leroy Quirk and Freddie Quirk.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Jane Quirk; four children, Allen Arthur Quirk Jr. and his wife, Kristen; Ashley Alaine Phares; Aaron Alena Saldivar and her wife, Brenda and Allie Jo Lee Edith Quirk; four grandchildren, Caylob Phares, Kacy Phares, Isaac Quirk and Amelia Quirk; his father, Fred Quirk; two brothers, Clayton Quirk and Darrel Quirk; and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A memorial service will be scheduled in the following weeks.
