Anthony Paul Pinto, 67, passed from this life at his home in Jones on September 17, 2023. He was born to Amadeo Floriga Pinto and Margaret (Vanderslice) Pinto on June 24, 1956, in Somers Point, NJ. He was a retired civil servant and U. S. Army Veteran, serving 17 years.
He attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, majoring in Aeronautics and airport management. He was employed in Transportation Security Administration for nearly 14 years, and COR Level 3 Secure Flight Program Management Office in Annapolis, MD, for four years.
Also, he was Maritime Pilot Program Screening Supervisor, rail pilot screening manager and electronic data systems business analyst in Nashville, TN. Anthony was an engineer sergeant with 82nd Airborne Division for the U. S. Army and was supply specialist, parachute rigger and radio operator for the Army National Guard.
Anthony spent 20-plus years with the National Guard and Reserve Units and was Engineer Sergeant with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1974-1980, at Fort Bragg.
He was an open water diver and private aircraft pilot and retired in October 2015 and made his home with his wife Dorothy in Jones, OK, where he was an avid gardener of home-grown vegetables and flower cultivation.
Anthony is preceded in death by his father Amadeo Floriga Pinto and mother Margaret Vanderslice Pinto, two infant brothers, mother-in-law Barbara Davenport and brother-in-law Dennis Williams.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his son Christopher Pinto, his sister Jackie Camp and spouse Jerry, niece Jessica and spouse Josh, great nephew Avett and great niece Charlotte and nephew Jason and spouse Serena, great nephew Henry, Father in law George Davenport, sister in law Christine Floyd and spouse Gary, niece LeeAnn Floyd, niece Stephanie Smith and spouse Nick, great nephew Calvin, brother in law David Davenport spouse Tracey, niece Ashleigh Loggins spouse Eric, great niece Zoe, great nephew Ryder, niece Molly Starzenski and spouse Ryan, great nieces Berkleigh and Whitleigh, nephew Casey Davenport and spouse Charis, great nephews Clemly and Colston, sister in law Diane Williams, niece Jennifer Shipp and spouse Kevin, great nieces Addison, Alyssa, Avery, nephew Michael Williams and spouse Erica, great niece Kendra.
The casket will be open at the funeral home 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, then Monday, from 9:00 a.m. until a Wake begins at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edmond. Burial will follow in the St, Teresa of Avila Catholic Cemetery of Harrah.
