Arthur James "Aj" Van Noy

Arthur James “AJ” Van Noy, 88, of Newalla, passed away at OU Medical Center of Oklahoma City, on Tuesday October 22, 2024. AJ was born October 29, 1935, in Hayward, to Oscar and Maude (Henshaw) Van Noy. He was reared and educated in Oklahoma. He married Delores Dupus in 1952. The couple lived in Oklahoma City before AJ and his brother moved their families and started a crane and trucking company to California during the oil boom there in the mid 1950’s. AJ worked 37 years as a crane operator working with operating engineer's union and was longtime member of the teamster’s union before retiring and the couple returned to the Harrah/Newalla area in the mid 1990’s.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 50 years Delores, son Kenneth Lyle Van Noy, and brothers Elbert, Ellis, Everett and Jack.

Survivors include his sons Arthur “Lynn” Van Noy of Fillmore, California, Randall and wife Tina Van Noy of Harrah, Gary Van Noy of Newalla; daughter Linda Diane and husband Richard League of Harrah and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2024, (AJ’s birthday) in the chapel at Asa Smith Funeral Service in Harrah. Burial will follow, at a later date, in the Bardsdale Cemetery of Fillmore, California.
