Beverly Ann Bishop of Harrah, passed September 17, 2023, at her home with her family by her side.
To her husband, she was Bev, Mouth, and Old Woman. To her children, she was Mom. To her relatives she was Tootie and to her friends she was Beverly, Bev, and Beaver. If you were a student from Harrah High School, you called her Mrs. Bishop, Miss B, or mom. She had many names from her grandchildren, Mamaw, Grandma, Granny, and Grams. But her most precious name was GiGi to her great-granddaughter.
Harrah resident, Beverly Bishop was born on January 30, 1942, to Robert and Billie Noe in Oklahoma City. She attended Harmon Grade School, Webster Middle School, where she and Wayne fell in love at the tender ages of 14 and 16. She attended Northeast High School where she graduated on June 2, 1960, only to be married two days later to her soulmate Wayne on June 4. They lived in Mineral Wells, Texas, while Wayne completed his duty in the Army. Beverly worked on base as a transportation secretary. They moved to Moore and had their first daughter, Kimberly, on May 5, 1963. In 1968, they moved to Harrah, and she worked as an insurance manager. Their second daughter, Kandi was born June 29, 1972. In 1984 Beverly started working as a secretary to the Vice Principal of Harrah High School. She moved from the high school to the administration office after 10 years and did payroll for the Harrah schools for another 10 years. After her 20 years of service to the Harrah schools, Beverly was forced into retirement due to her liver disease. On Christmas Eve of 2008 she received a liver transplant. In 2021 cancer had spread to her colon, liver and lungs. Beverly fought a long battle and earned her angel’s wings on September 17, 2023. Beverly is survived by Wayne, her loving husband of 63 years. Daughters Kim Bishop of Harrah and Kandice Hodges of Midwest city. Brother Larry and wife Tony Noe of Edmond, grandchildren Kortnee and husband JD Halvorson of Harrah, Taylor Petrimoulx and wife Kelli Hayes of Edmond, Hayden and wife Mary Mulanax of Blanchard, Kanyan Hodges of Norman, and Macy Hodges of Moore. She was determined to be around long enough to welcome their first and only great grandchild Kaycee James Halvorson. She looked forward to getting her “vitamin K” as she called it as much as she could. She was loved by so many, and she was always so humbled by the love and support and well wishes that so many family and friends gave. Beverly lived by these words “100 years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important to the life of a child. “ Special thanks to Integris Hospice. To Nancy Brewer for her lifelong friendship and care. And to her sister-in-law Penny Hurrelbrink for helping out when our family needed it. Our hearts are broken but we know she is in a better place and is a guardian angel to us all.
