BLANCHE PARMETER
Blanche Parmeter celebrated her 100th birthday on September 3, 2023, and passed from this life to a joyous reunion with her husband, Leonard, and many other loved ones in Heaven on August 15, 2024, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born on September 23, 1923, in Chocimierz, Poland to Michael and Mary (Kruchowska) Czercyk. In the fall of 1924, the family came by ship to the USA and settled in Harrah, OK, where she was reared and educated.
She met Leonard Parmeter in Harrah, and they married in 1941, in California. The couple moved to Oklahoma City in 1948 where they raised their three children. In 1968 they purchased a farm and built a house in Cromwell, OK. She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and also had her own greenhouse. She loved cooking and was always in the kitchen cooking and baking for her family. She also loved quilting and going antiquing with her sister, Nell. After her husband’s death, she sold the farm in 1995 and moved to Choctaw, OK. She worked in the cafeteria at Choctaw Elementary School for many years where she loved feeding the children and faculty. One of her life goals was realized when, on her 100th birthday, she met her great-great grandson Kollin Shippy.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard, a daughter Donna (Parmeter) Stone; two brothers, Frank Joskulowski and Tony Czercyk and four sisters, Olga Mathis, Helen Phillips, Jean Husband and Nell Malone.
