Carolyn Sue Haynes

November 5, 1936 — February 20, 2022

CAROLYN SUE HAYNES Carolyn Sue Haynes, 85, of Norman, formerly of Harrah, OK, left this earth for her rewards in Heaven and a joyous reunion with countless friends and relatives on Feb. 20, 2022, at her home in Norman. She was born November 5, 1936 in Fox, OK to Harry and Emma Christian Weaver. She married Bobby Haynes at First Baptist Church, Harrah, on Dec. 14, 1957. She was a fabricator at Agee Products, later known as Decra-Mold for 24 years, but was better known as best cook who fed her family and friends the best fried chicken in the world. Carolyn was a simple woman, very loving, kind, easy going with no fussing, welcoming to all and was the best mother in law in the world. She was very family oriented and greatly enjoyed family reunions and get-togethers. She had two sisters who were Rosie the Riveters during the War. But perhaps her greatest passion was spoiling the grandkids and her rat terrriers, Eli, who survives her, and her favorite, Sissy, whom she had for 14 years. Carolyn was an avid quilter and produced some beautiful quilts for friends and family. She enjoyed going to the Casino and was a big fan of OU football and Thunder basketball and always looked forward to calling her sister and breaking down the games af their conclusion. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby; her parents; and four siblings June Manek, Leon Weaver, Rece Weaver and Harry (Cotton) Weaver. Survivors include two sons, Mark and wife Candace Haynes of Choctaw, Bryan and wife Leisa Haynes of Choctaw; a daugher Lisa and husband Tommy Bush of Norman; and two sisters, Mary Jones of Mannsville, OK and Doris Garner of Merced, CA. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel followed by interment in Memory Lane Cemetery. Asa Smith Funeral Service of Harrah is in charge of arrangements. Condolences and tributes may be posted on the funeral home web-site www.asasmith.net
