Catherine Lorraine Creighton

Catherine Lorraine (Ferris) Creighton, 70, of Arkansas City, formerly of Wichita, died Sunday (December 12, 2021) at the AllianceHealth Hospital of Woodward. She was surrounded by her children. Memorial services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monda (December 27, 2021) at Central Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Parker Cemetery. The Reverend Dennis Voth will officiate. Cremation has been effected. Cathy was born January 29, 1951, in Wichita, to Marion Lorraine and Ardelia Lee (Reser) Ferris. The family moved to Arkansas City, later that year where Cathy was reared and educated, graduating from Arkansas City High School 1969. Cathy worked very hard, sometimes two jobs, all while she attended nursing school while raising her children. She worked as a nurse for over 30 years including Wesley Medical Center of Wichita, Westview Manor of Derby and the Kansas Veteran’s Home of Winfield. Survivors include her children Matthew “Matt” and wife Yvonne Creighton of Haysville, Seth and wife Monica Creighton of Wichita, Erica and husband Paul Hicks of Dallas, Georgia; grandchildren Taylor and wife Michaela Creighton of Mulvane, Courtney and husband Avery Woelk of Derby, Connor Creighton of Haysville, Lauryn Creighton of Wichita, Ashlyn Creighton of Wichita, Caleb, Tristan and Evie Hicks all of Dallas, Georgia; siblings Jim and wife Kathy Ferris of Ames, Iowa, Rebecca “Becky” and husband Rick Lane of Derby, Jean and husband Dick Phillips of Arkansas City, Floyd and wife Rosena Ferris of Derby, Robert and wife Kathleen Ferris of Harrah, Oklahoma; cousin Bruce Shrouf of Wichita; and numerous nephews and nieces, great-nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Daniel, aunt Melba Catherine Hansen. A memorial has been established with the Cowley County Humane Society.
