Charlotte Gale Banks 81, our beloved core matriarch, mother, sister and Grammie has passed on January 24, 2025. Born in Richmond, California, to Oliver Joe and Mary Gale “Howard” Banks on January 6, 1944. She graduated from Midwest City High School with the Bombers class of 1962, started working at Western Electric, and moved out on her own. In 1963, she married the love of her life Tommy Manek, Jr., of Harrah, at the St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church of Midwest City. She stayed home to raise their two children, and together they ran the Maverick Club OKC throughout the 70’s and Manco Gear and Machine OKC until 1988. She was also teacher assistant at Webster Junior High and substituting at Southeast High School until 1986. Her journey then took her to Tinker Air Force Base working in the highly respected Commanders Action Group as Protocol, where she retired after 15 dedicated years. She loved to travel to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Thailand, and Mexico. She was adventurous, protective and creative.
Charlotte meant the world to our family and many friends and loved ones. She was a firecracker but also elegant, silly, fun, sweet, flirty and sharp. She loved her family deeply and spent her days providing love and care to her babies, dogs Bubba and Molly, and flower beds.
She is preceded by her parents, and son Trey Manek.
Survived by Daughter Traci Sorrells; Grandchildren Chara-lette Davison, Brettana and Holden Pollard, and Matthew Sorrells; Great Grandchildren Blayden Lindsey, MaKya Muskett, Waylon Densmore; Brother Joe and his wife Liz Banks.
