Christine Louise “Tina” Nelson, of Harrah, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024, in Midwest City.
Tina was born December 15, 1940, in Newton, Massachusetts, to Mary Theresa (Morey) Khachadoorian. She was reared and educated in Newton, graduating from high school in 1958. Her three children were born in Massachusetts. She later moved to New Mexico, California, Florida and back to New Mexico before moving to Oklahoma in 2004. She worked as a restaurant manager for many years and later volunteered at Choctaw Middle School selling popcorn and pickles. Tina was always the loudest and perhaps craziest grandma at her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was also a fan of all sports teams New England, the Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics. She was a wonderful gardener, avid reader and enjoyed making porcelain dolls working with ceramics of all kinds. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and son-in-law Tom Herzog.
Survivors include her children Bill Nelson of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Peggy and husband Rick Bennett of Cabot, Arkansas, and Tamera Herzog of Harrah; a brother Bobby Naylor of Sioux City, Iowa; sister Joanne White of Connecticut; grandchildren Ryan Stafford, Aaron Nelson, Nicole Herzog, Jeffrey Herzog, Dustin Herzog, and Michael Herzog; and three great-grandchildren.
