Cloyce Dean Wallis, Sr. died, Friday, December 16, 2022, at his daughter’s home in Prague with his family by his side. Cloyce was born December 15, 1929, in Midland, Texas, to Thomas G. and Mary L. (Edgmon) Wallis. He began working as a truck driver at age 15, taking a big rig from Midland to Lubbuck. After serving in the United States Army, he went back to being a truck driver. He worked for various oil companies and cement companies for most of that time. In time the family moved to Ada, later to Coffeyville, Kansas and back to Ada. He married Edna Lou Mayfield on June 29, 1953, in Midland. She preceded him in death in 2009. As a couple they spent all the time they could with their four children. Rarely going some where they couldn’t take them along. Cloyce was an avid horseman and loved being outdoors. He and Edna where wonderful square dancers being a part of several clubs in Texas and Oklahoma. They shared the love of square dancing with their children and took them, in matching outfits to many, many dances. After the passing of his wife, Cloyce moved to the Harrah area living with his sons and daughters.
Those left to honor his life and grieve his passing include his daughters Terry and husband Jerry Leach of Harrah, Jerry Atwood and fiancée Danny Allred of Prague; sons Cloyce D. “Chip” Wallis, Jr. of Tecumseh, William “Ted” Wallis of McLoud; grandchildren Lance and Tiffany West, Toyia and Mark Dillon, Ryan Wallis, Lisa Augustine, Kellsey and husband Joe Thompson, Paytyn Atwood; great-grandchildren Chloe Dillon, Lily West, Maddison Thompson, Kensley Thompson, Allison Thompson, Joe Thompson, Jr., Kinley Dillon and Amy Rocha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings Kenneth, CW, and Mary Francis Jobe.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the Asa Smith Funeral Service Chapel, Burial will follow in the Jones I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Jones, Oklahoma.
The casket will be open for friends 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
