Dale Bennett Phillips

Dale Bennett Phillips, 78, of Newalla, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care Systems Hospital. Dale was born September 13, 1946, in Checotah, to Guy and Ruby Mae (Baker) Phillips. He was reared and educated in Eufaula, graduating there in 1964. Dale served in the United States Army in Vietnam. After serving his country, Dale worked as a heavy equipment operator and later married Carrie Lewis on March 14, 1975. The couple made their home in Eufaula but, moved to Choctaw in 1976. In 1994, the family moved back to Eufaula. Dale continued to live in Eufaula until his health declined and he moved to Newalla to be closer to his children. Dale was a big man, with an even bigger heart who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister Ruby Freeman.

Survivors include his children Lance Phillips and wife Jody, of Oklahoma City; Brandy Burns, and husband Cory of Newalla; a brother Guy Phillips and wife Shirley; sisters Lela Wheeler, Shirley Burwell and Toy Henry all of Eufaula; grandchildren Easton Burns, Taelyn Burns, Nathaniel Phillips and Madeleine Phillips

Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation has been affected.
