David Daryl Johnson Jr. 52, of Newalla passed from this earth to his Heavenly home on November 26, 2018 in Midwest City, OK. He was born to David D. Johnson and Marlys Jean Anderson Johnson on May 26, 1966 in National City, CA. David graduated from Lindsey High School and received a BA Degree from East Central in Ada and a Masters Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond. He was a teacher and coach for one year in Texas, two years in Harrah and the past 23 years in the Choctaw-Nicoma Park School System. During that time, he was coach of football, basketball, baseball and golf. He was also instrumental in helping form the high school swim team. For several summers, he coached at the Chandler Baseball Camp. He was Vice-Principal of Nicoma Park Middle School. He then stepped down to be Assistant Athletic Director of the Choctaw-Nicoma Park School District. He was the district Teacher of the Year in 2007-2008. David collected and donated money to the Children's Miracle Network and for the American Cancer Society. His passion in life was teaching and guiding children, hoping to be an influence in their lives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a nephew, Daulton Dickerson. Survivors include his wife, Chrissy White Johnson; parents, David and Marlys Johnson of Kingston, OK; 3 sisters, Bunny Morris of Kingston, OK, Brenda Miller of Lexington, OK and Jolene (Keith) Dickerson of Kingston, OK; 3 nieces Heather (Caleb) Webb of Paoli, OK, Siera Taylor of Denton, OK, and Kyleigh Dickerson of Kingston, OK; nephews Royce Morris of Kingston, OK, Jessie Miller of Washington, OK and Darryl Johnson of Jay, OK; and step-daughters, Courtney and Maddison; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews. His favorite saying was "I'M LIVIN' THE DREAM!" Visitation will be held at Asa Smith Funeral Home, Harrah, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. Celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 in the Performing Arts Center at Choctaw High School under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah.
