Doronda Kay “Nonz” (Guinn) Sykes, 57, of Harrah, OK, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at Rose Hill Burial Park of Oklahoma City. The casket will be open, at the funeral home, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m Thursday with the family there to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Due to the rising amount COVID 19 cases, the family does ask that those attending visitation or the graveside practice CDC guidelines including social distancing and the wearing of a mask. She was born February 19, 1964, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Don and Wanda Guinn. She was a loving, devoted wife and daughter. She was a passionate follower of Jesus Christ who believed in fulfilling The Great Commission by showing compassion, an example of good works and bearing the burdens of others. She was an exemplary example of The Golden Rule. As a Customer Service Representative she often went the extra mile by finding her customers the cheapest rates possible. She also developed meaningful and lasting relationships with customers by praying with them or offering godly counsel. Doronda had a profound love for animals. Her house was not considered a home unless dogs and cats were present. She was also passionate about serving the Lord with her gifts and talents. She played guitar and sang with an angelic voice. She and her husband Ron were involved in local church video ministry for several years before branching out to be Christian film makers. Doronda was also gifted at decorating and arranging and enjoyed gardening. Her favorite rock bands were the Bay City Rollers and Queen. She is preceded in death by her father, Don Guinn; her brother, Randy Allen Beene Guinn; and her grandmother, Inez Morelock, who Doronda considered to be her best friend. She is survived by her husband Ron Sykes, of the home; her mother, Wanda Guinn of the home; an uncle Jimmy Morelock of Guthrie; two brothers and two sisters: Gary Guinn of Tecumseh, OK; Donna Hartzke and husband, Karl of Collinsville, OK; Kevin Guinn and wife, Mary of Broken Arrow; Jerri Reinhardt of Wichita, KS, and numerous nephews and nieces.
