Dorothy Ann Wagnon Hinds Pearson received her wings on Nov 2, 2024, at her home in Choctaw, Oklahoma. Ann was born March 12, 1942, in Enterprise, Oklahoma to Charlie E. Wagnon and Virginia E. Sanderson Wagnon. She attended Enterprise Schools until the family moved to Greenfield, California in 1958.
There she attended Greenfield Public School. From California Ann moved to Amarillo, Texas where she began her family with husband Arthur Corky Pearson. Ann returned to Oklahoma and married Jim Hinds in 1975. They both worked at Aircraft Engine Service, Bethany, while they were living in Edmond. By the 1990s Ann worked in Edmond in two daycare programs: Miss Nancy’s Child Care and Kids on Broadway. She then served as a teacher’s aide in the Edmond Public School System until her retirement. Not only a great cook, Ann was also a creative seamstress who donated many beautiful baby quilts to hospital delivery wards and gave lovely quilts as gifts to her many friends and family. Ann moved back to Choctaw in 2022.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Wagnon, son Rickey Pearson, daughter Kimberly Duett Sandoval, adopted son Michael Hinds, two sisters-in-law Joan Tisdale Wagnon and Clara Berry Wagnon, nephew Mike Wagnon, and her special friend John Ferguson.
She is survived by daughter Debbie Pearson of Okarche; granddaughter Patricia Duett (Michael) Coleman of Norman; brothers Ronnie Wagnon and Larry Wagnon, Choctaw, and Roger (Kathryn) Wagnon of Meeker. Ann also leaves behind many nieces and nephews including Tammy (Eddie) Jamison, Austin Wagnon, Amy (Dennis) Lester, Mark (Alicia) Wagnon, Melissa (Ryan) Meredith, Sarah D. (James) Craiger, Sarah B. (Cory) Eden and a host of great nieces and nephews she loved dearly and her many loving friends.
The family wishes to thank Loving Care Hospice especially Nurse JoLinda for the special care offered to Ann and her family during her last days.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at Asa Smith Funeral Service Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024. A private burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Choctaw.
