DOYLE DEAN STRAKA Doyle Dean Straka, 88, of Harrah, died Saturday, February 13, 2021, at the McLoud Nursing Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 202) at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah. Burial will follow in the Czechoslovakian National Cemetery of Oklahoma City. The casket will be open at the funeral home 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Those attending visitation or services are requested to follow all COVID-19 mandates including the wearing of a mask and social distancing. Doyle was born May 28, 1932, in Oklahoma City, to John and Bessie (Jelinek) Straka. He was reared and educated in Moore, graduating in 1950. He married Delta Coletta Carroll in 1955. The couple moved to a farm east of Harrah in 1962, where they raised their three children Teresa, Carl, and Roger. Doyle was a farmer, raising wheat, alfalfa and milo and also cattle and hogs for many years. Doyle and Coletta were known to put out summer gardens every year and sold watermelon, cantaloupe and pumpkins in the fall. In later years the couple enjoyed being camp hosts at Lake Eufaula, but could always be found at the local Czech Hall visiting with friends and neighbors from all around. Survivors include his children Teresa and husband David Fryar, Carl and wife Sherri Straka, and Roger Straka, all of Harrah; grandchildren Brandi Straka and companion Georgana Powell, Christopher and wife Chase Fryar, Derrick and wife Crystal Fryar, Season and husband Tony Taylor, Clint and wife Courtney Straka and Chelsea Straka; great-grandchildren Kaylee, Chloe, Paisley and Samuel Fryar, Timber and Kanyon Fryar and Piper Straka. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Coletta, and brother Kenneth Straka. A memorial has been established with the Czech Hall of Yukon, Oklahoma.
