Edith "Edie" Maurine Jewell, 80, of Harrah passed from this life to claim her rewards and unite with a large group of family and friends in Heaven on November 25, 2019, in McLoud, OK. She was born June 4, 1939 in Skiatook, OK to Sol D. Hatfield and Margaret Taylor. She received a bachelor’s degree at Oklahoma University. She had many interests and activities including her love of plants which led to owning a nursery in Jones following her retirement. She enjoyed bowling, shooting pool and square dancing, in which she made her own square dancing dresses. She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jerry Jewell. Edith is survived by six children, Pamela JJ Crabtree and husband Michael of Yukon, Garry Jewell and wife Connie of Harrah, Robert Jewell and wife Natalie of Newalla, Johnny Jewell of McLoud, David Jewell of Wichita, KS and Jackie Geeson of New Jersey. Also seven grandchildren, Paul Brzozowski and wife Guisela, Nicolas Jewell and wife Emily, Breeana Jewell, Blayne Jewell, Von Kendrick, Heather Geeson and Paul Geeson; and one great grandchild Camila Brzozowski. She leaves behind a sister Valerie Driscoll and husband Don of Enid, OK and a brother Sol D. Hatfield and wife Pat of Elk City, OK. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church, Harrah, with Dr. Dan Campbell officiating. Services are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service of Harrah.
