ETHEL G. JONES HOWELL (Pug, Granny) Our sweet mom, granny, sister, aunt and friend to many Ethel Howell, 88, of Harrah went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 16, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born in Prescott, MO on November 19, 1929 to George and Louise Osborn Jones. She attended Prescott and Licking Elementary Schools. When she was seven years old, she moved with her family to Bartlesville, OK where she attended Lincoln Elementary, Central Junior High and graduated from Bartlesville High School in 1948. She and Billy Eugene Howell were married July 23, 1949 in Bartlesville, OK. Ethel was employed in 1968 by J&S Foundry in Dewey. In 1971, she began a 30-year career as secretary with Arnold Moore Funeral Service and was semi-retired in 1995 and then worked part-time. She was a former member of the Evangelical Methodist Church and the Dewey Order of Eastern Star Chapter #312. She spent the majority of her life in Bartlesville. She was very supportive and loved her family dearly. Granny's grandchildren and great granddaughter were the loves of her life. She was known for her beautiful smile, hugs that you felt for the rest of the day, unique facial expressions, loving personality, and a knack for cleaning everything in sight. She was a breast cancer survivor and her favorite treat was chocolate. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Billy Eugene Howell in 1970; two brothers, Frank Jack Jones and John Robert Jones; two sisters, Murline White and Lucy Shull and great-granddaughter Jada Nicole Wheeler. Survivors include her son Gary and wife Carrie of Harrah; a sister, Florence (Pete) and Raymond Lorenz of Bartlesville, brother-in-law Johnny Shull of Pawhuska, three grandchildren Johnna Wheeler of Harrah, Joe Don Howell and Jessie Sohrabi of Moore and one great-granddaughter Lola Harper Howell along with numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at noon Wednesday in the Asa Smith Chapel under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service of Harrah. Lunch to follow at the Harrah Church.
