George Edmund Lane, 72, of McLoud, OK passed from this life on October 3, 2020 at his home in McLoud. He was born to Paul Haskell Lane and Louise Ollie Masters Lane on November 1, 1947 in Woodruff, SC. Ed and Glenna Holder were married at Woodruff, SC on February 17, 1966. He served in the US Army for two years as a Specialist 4th Class, E-4, earning the Rifle Marksmanship Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He worked as a Road Foreman for Lincoln County D-3, Meeker, and retired from that position. Ed enjoyed woodworking, building, hunting and fishing in his spare time. His favorite times were spent at home with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Alice Lane. Survivors include his wife, Glenna Lane and son Terry Lane of the home; daughter Lanette Wynn of McLoud; grandchildren Jennifer Wynn of Shawnee, Brittanie Aguirre and husband Jacob of Norman, Danielle Wynn of Oklahoma City and Levi Wynn of McLoud; brother Jack and Shirley Lane of Florence, AL, sisters Sue and Mace Westmoreland of Woodruff, SC, and Brenda and Ray Henson of McLoud; and many nieces and nephews. Family Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020 at Jamison Cemetery under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah.
