Gregory Paul Montalvo Sr.

Gregory Paul Montalvo Sr., 84, of Newalla left this life April 18, 2018 in Newalla. He was born in Bauxite, AR. on February 13, 1934 to Jose and Herlinda (Hernandez) Montalvo He served in the U.S. Marines from 1952 to 1976 retiring as a 1st Sgt. After retiring from the service, he went to work for the U.S postal Service in Midwest City, retiring from that after 20 years. He was a member of the Nation Letter Carriers Association and also a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th degree. The rosary was an important part of his Catholic faith. Gregory is survived by three daughters and two son-in-laws: Madonna Lynn Pitman of Newalla, Victoria Ann Woods and husband James of Hampton, VA. and Lisa Michelle Morell and husband Harvey of Oakland , ME.; one son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Paul Jr. and his wife Marie of Macomb, Il.; one brother, Guadelalupe Montalvo and wife Olga of Benton, AR; two sisters, Tedea Barnes of Smithville, TN and Angela Kelly of raven Wood, WV. 15 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Nancy Marie Montalvo. Rosary and Wake will be Monday April, 23 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church followed by a wake. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday April 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church with interment to follow at St. Teresa Catholic Cemetery under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.
