Gwendolyn Frances Honea

Gwendolyn Frances Honea, 89, of Harrah passed from this life to her reward in Heaven on April 24, 2019 in Del City, OK. She was born January 17, 1930 in Oklahoma City to Perry William and Margaret (Brodie) Prickett. She and Cecil Honea were married in March of 1950. She worked as a mail distributor for the Oklahoma Tax Commission. Gwen also was employed at Seikel’s Grocery and Harrah Meat Processing and Locker. She enjoyed reading Christian romance novels and working crossword puzzles. She was involved in worship at First Baptist Church, Harrah and enjoyed gospel music by Randy Travis. Gwen also enjoyed Hallmark movies. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil in 1996, and two sisters Georgia Prather and Margaret Wilkerson. Survivors include her son Perry Melbourne Honea and wife Leslie of Harrah, daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Goss and husband Wayne of Harrah; three sisters, Sylvia Maples of Edmond, Judith Pitman of Harrah and Helen Leaverton of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, Paul, Vaughn, Chasity, Valerie and William; four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
