Gwenell Knight

Gwenell Knight, 76, of Harrah, passed Sunday, June 25, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center of Oklahoma City.

Gwenell was born March 17, 1947, in Oklahoma City, to Clifford and Opal (Beam) Wester. She was reared and educated in Oklahoma City, graduating from Southeast High School. She married Ausburn Knight on St. Valentine’s Day in 1965. The couple had two children before he preceded her in death in 1992. Gwenell worked as the Secretary to the Tinker Air Force Base Commander for 20 years before retiring to care for her family. She later worked for the local Century 21 Real Estate Office for several years. Gwenell was a faithful member of the Hillside Baptist Church near White Rock. She enjoyed crocheting, trying new recipes, decorating cakes, and the family’s many camping trips. She was Past-President of the State of Oklahoma American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a granddaughter Jessica Schipper.

Survivors include her son David Knight; daughter Dana and her husband Charles Schipper all of Moore; sisters JoAnne and husband James Thomas of Cleveland, Georgia, Beth Miller of McLoud; brothers Clifford “Freddy” Webster, Jr. and wife Becky Webster of Harrah, Steve Webster of Harrah; one grandchild Matthew Schipper; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Jamison Cemetery.

Cremation has been affected.
