Rev. Harvey L. Hickman, Sr., 82, of Harrah, OK, beloved husband, father, grandfather and faithful servant of God, passed from this life to his heavenly home on September 23, 2020, in Oklahoma City, OK. Harvey was a Southern Baptist minister and spent his life serving Jesus. He was active in pastorates at Cowlington Baptist Church of Cowlington, OK; Highway 96 Baptist Church in AR; Double Branch Baptist Church of Poteau, OK; First Baptist Church of Milfay, OK; First Baptist Church of Perkins, OK; Midway Baptist Church of Wichita, KS; First Baptist Church of Medford, OK; Rock Springs Baptist Church of Stilwell, OK; Hopewell Baptist Church of Bethel Acres, OK; and Penn West Baptist Church of Holdenville, OK. He also served as director of men's ministries at the Union Rescue Mission of Wichita, KS, for nine years. He had a gift for working with people of all ages and backgrounds and was loved by everyone whose life he touched. After his retirement, Harvey and his wife Wanda were members of First Baptist Church of Newalla where he taught Sunday School for many years. Harvey enjoyed fishing, tinkering with gadgets, electronics and computers, reading, and listening to audiobooks. He was a logical thinker and enjoyed theological discussions and sharing his faith in Jesus. He loved to challenge his grandchildren with riddles and jokes. He leaves his family a legacy of faith and love. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Wanda. He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia (Cindy) Goodwin and husband Lonnie of Dallas, TX; Amanda (Amy) Davis and husband Chris of Choctaw, OK; Angela (Angie) Jones and husband David of Huntsville, AL; a son, Harvey Hickman Jr. and wife Wendy of Shawnee; a brother, Larry Hickman and wife Sandy of Arkoma, OK; 12 grandchildren, Kayla, Rachel, Hayley, and Nathan (Cindy); Seth, Alyssa, and Samantha (Angie), Brady, Rylie, and Alexis (Harvey); Kearstyn and Katelyn (Amy); and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2020, in the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel followed by interment in Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah.
