Helen Marie Berry Longwith went to her rewards in OKC on Oct. 25, 2024.

She was born to Aulsie Berry, “Berry” & Helen Erickson Berry, & had 1 sister, Judy Pearson of Ca. She was born on August 1, 1926, in OKC, Ok.

Helen Marie is survived by 2 children Dale Longwith of Colorado and a daughter, Barbara and husband Orin Kimball of Harrah; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, and sister Judy Pearson.

Helen Marie was preceded in death by Swedish immigrant grandparents, William & Mary Sophia Bloomquist Erickson, parents Aulsie and Helen Erickson Berry, and 1 grandson Jessie Longwith.

Helen Marie was brought up on a farm near Crutcho. She attended Crutcho school then Central High School in OKC. She spent summers with her grandmother at her boarding house.

Her first job was with Bell Telephone Co. Later she worked for Liberty National Bank downtown OKC. Her last job was at Tinker Field Airforce Base in maintenance rebuilding fuel controllers. After retiring she was a docent at Cowboy Hall of Fame. She loved working with children teaching arts & crafts.

While working at Tinker Field she attended Rose State College and earned an art degree. She was a very talented artist self-taught from an early age. She did self-portraits and drawings of Judy. Later she did a life-sized cut out of wood painting of grandson Justin at about age 8. Helen Marie also loved Egyptian art and painted a huge King Tut!!

Helen Marie loved to swim. She was excited to put in a large pool of her own. Her grandchildren & friends were frequent visitors in the summer.

Helen Marie was a devoted grandparent taking her grandsons to California. She loved to read and watch old movies especially westerns & romance. Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right were her favorite game shows. She went to OU games with friends and to the movies with Orin & Barbara.

She loved to travel going to Hawaii 3 times once with her mom then with sister Judy. Helen Marie visited Judy in Ca. frequently. She also took a bus trip to Nova Scotia with Judy & family. No travel is complete without going to “Graceland”.

Helen Marie attended Crutcho Baptist and sang in the choir until they closed. Then Barbara drove her to her church.

Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Rose Hill Burial Park of Oklahoma City.
