HELEN WENGIER OBIT Helen Wengier, age 93, of Harrah, OK left this earth to join her loved ones on May 7, 2018 in Harrah, OK. She was born December 4, 1924 in Harrah to Peter and Bernice Kuryanski Storozyszyn. She attended New Hope School until 8th grade. She later worked for a time as a Rosie the Riveter at Tinker Air Force Base during World War II. She married Raymond Wengier on January 8, 1949 in Fort Worth, TX and lived in Grand Prairie, TX where he was employed by Ling-Temco-Vought. She loved to cook and can produce grown at home and was an accomplished pie maker. She also made many different dishes using cabbage. She also loved to go fishing for recreation. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, a grandson Peter Wengier, five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her son James and wife Glinda of DeLeon, TX; three grandchildren, Julia and Dewayne Fant of Weatherford, TX, Rachel and Craig Clay of Weatherford, TX and James and Jaclyn Wengier of Crowley, TX; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, other family members and a host of friends. Triasagion will be celebrated Thursday at 6 p.m. with funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday, both at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Jones. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Harrah under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah. Memories and messages of consolation may be posted on the funeral home web-site.
