Irene Miller

Irene Miller, 88, of Harrah, OK passed from this life to her rewards in Heaven on July 19, 2019 in Harrah. She was born January 24, 1931 in Stigler, OK to Manuel Teague and Zonie (Eslick) Teague. Irene and Melvin C. Miller were married in Vernon, TX on July 12, 1952. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed vegetable gardening and raising beautiful flowers. She also made the best yeast rolls and chicken and dressing on the planet. Irene believed everything was better with a sup of coffee or a sup of Coke and always maintained a sense of humor, delivering an assortment of one-line punch lines. She was a believer in Christ and it showed in her daily walk. Family was her main mission in life, especially grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great grandkids. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Melvin C. Miller; her grandson Jason and granddaughter Tearsa and her great-grandson, Nicholas Jack, her sisters, Loraine and Pauline, her brothers, Junior, Charlie and Arthur. Survivors include three sons, Robert and wife Phyllis Miller of Omaha, AR, Ernie and wife Kathy Miller of Harrah and Jimmy and wife Betty Miller of Nicoma Park; a daughter, Carolyn and husband Ken Hightower of McAlester, OK; a brother Virgil Teague and wife Donna Mae, and two sisters, Corene and husband Rich Lauer and Linda Sue and husband James Blackford, as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral services will be held August 10, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel at Asa Smith Funeral Service in Harrah, followed by interment in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery.
