JAMES GAIL PRICE
James Gail Price, 82, of Oklahoma City passed from this life on June 22, 2024, at Hospice House in Oklahoma City after a brief illness.
He was born September 28, 1941, the oldest of three boys born to James Clayton and Margaret Lois Price in Omaha NE. where his family owned and operated a furniture manufacturing company. He was stricken with polio at an early age and went through extensive physical therapy. In high school, he excelled in choral music and was in first school choir all four years.
His trade was making upholstered furniture. He retired as a Senior Trim Engineer for Lear Corporation.
There are five generations with the James Price name and all prefer to be addressed by their middle names:
Grandfather; James Everett, born 1887
Father: James Clayton, born in 1917
Son: James Gail, born in 1941
His Daughter: Jamie Patricia, born in 1963
His Grandson: James Alexander, born in 2008
Gail enjoyed Nebraska football, Indianapolis Car Racing, classical music, design and drafting, engineering, upholstering and making custom upholstered furniture, travel, the Bible, history, the Protestant religion and dogs, not necessarily in that order! He had two Boxer dogs growing up, Lady, a light brown female and Rex, an all-white street dog that his father brought home from running the streets near the furniture factory!!
He was preceded in death by his father, James Clayton Price, his mother Margaret Hudson Price and grandson, Daniel Peter Price.
He is survived by his wife, Karel Geary Price, two brothers, Robert Price and wife Linda and John and wife Karen Price; his children, Jamie Patricia and husband Thomas White, Timothy and wife Pamela Price, Stephen Price, and David and wife Lucynda Price. Grandchildren are Genesis Price and Roman and wife Stephanie Price; James Alexander Price, Esther and Ian Price; Benjamin and wife Dr. Susan White, Susanna White, Jonathan White and Thomas White.There are also 10 great grandchildren Kara, Natalie, Lydia, Samuel, Hazel and Annorah White; Safiya and Maya Abdulkadir; Prudence White and Hazel Price.
Services will be Monday, July 1, 2024, at Summit Ridge Seventh Day Adventist Church,
18380 Bluejay Blvd., Harrah, with interment in Carmel Cemetery at Summit Ridge under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah.
