James H. Spencer

James H. "Jim" Spencer of Harrah, left this life on August 30, 2018 at the age of 82. He was born April 25, 1936 in Harrah, Ok. to Robert Eugene and Mary Ethel (Dye) Spencer. Jim served in the 45th National Guard for 3 years from 1958 to 1961,he worked as a sheet metal worker and was a member of Local # 124 Sheet Metal Workers Union. Jim moved back to Harrah and owned and operated Spencer's Orchard and Green Houses. He was a member and former president of the Oklahoma Fruit Grower's Association, and in 2008 Jim was voted as the the Green House Grower of the year. Jim is survived by his wife Gayle Spencer of the home, one son James Spencer and wife Kathy of Broken Arrow, one daughter Lori Booth of Harrah, five grandchildren Kelly Caughron and husband Cliff , Kimberley Szoeke and husband Jake, James Spencer Jr. and wife Emily, Nathan Booth and Lauren Booth, two great grandchildren Joseph Szoeke and Luke Spencer, two brothers Bill Spencer and wife Jan of Harrah and Jerry Spencer and wife Brenda of Harrah. and numerous nieces and nephews and Cleo his faithful companion. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Debra Kay Spencer and sister Robbie Dye Mueller and a brother Kenneth Spencer. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wed. September 5, 2018 at Faith Baptist Church in Harrah, with interment to follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah, services are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.
