Janis Dillingham was born on October 27, 1934, in Sherman, Texas, and departed this life on Friday, January 19, 2018, in Harrah, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. Janis, the daughter of Rev. Hugh and Lydia (Lewis) Bumpas, was a resident of Harrah. She attending Capitol Hill High School and graduated in 1953. During her high school days she became the Capitol Hill Lions Club Rodeo Queen and the Redskins Sweetheart in 1952-53. She married Oscar Dillingham on April 23, 1962, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Oscar was in the Air Force, so they traveled many places throughout his military career including a tour in England and ending up in Altus, Oklahoma. After the Air Force, they moved to Harrah in 1983. Janis enjoyed many fine things, including cooking, collecting cookbooks and recipes. She also was a member of Trinity Chapel Church where she was very involved with encouraging young people and cherished all children there. She was devout in studying God’s Word and often dropped words of encouragement to other people. Janis loved unconditionally and often strived to find ways to show Christ’s love to others. She would often visit others including those in nursing homes. She also loved to sing, especially Gospel music and played the piano. Janis was a huge fan of Carls Jr, especially their hamburgers. Janis is survived by her husband, Oscar Dillingham of the home; sister-in-law, Juliet Bumpas; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Vikki Bumpas; daughter, Janis Beavers; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Chip Black; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Kyra Dillingham; son, Dylan Dillingham; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kathryn Dillingham; grandchildren, Amber and husband Josh Wooten, Dustin Miller and wife Tricia, Jillian Bumpas, Adrian Bumpas, Barrett Bumpas, Lindsey and husband Sam Hamidii, Brooke Beavers, Isabella Dillingham, Kale Dillingham, Christen Black, Cody Black and wife Shaunda; great-grandchildren, Cameron Black, Mason Wooten, Ayden Wooten, Addalynn Wooten, Kambrye Wooten, Sadiegh Wooten, Sky Miller, Alex Pauley, Eddie Pauley, Amberley Tsouligiannis, Carter Hansen, Keagen Black, Karsyn Black, Dre Darlington and wife Ivory; nephew, Geoff Bumpas and wife Courtney, great niece, Alex Bumpas; great nephew, Kailen Bumpas; nephew, Derek Bumpas and wife Teresa; great nephew, Christian Bumpas, and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Asa Smith Funeral Service in Harrah from 10 A.M to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 10 A.M. at Trinity Chapel in Harrah with Ray Wade, Th.D officiating. Interment will follow at McMillan Cemetery in McMillan, Oklahoma at 4 P.M. Services are under the direction of Asa Smith-Parks Funeral Service in Harrah.
