Jeanette Ann Taylor

Jeanette Ann Taylor, 92, of Choctaw, passed from this life on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Integris Hospital of Edmond. Jeanette was born August 27, 1929, in Paducah, TX, to Raymond and Bertha Leona (Hill) Robbins. She was raised and educated by her mother and husband, Rev. Cecil C. Drake, all over the southwestern part of the United States including, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona and California. She spent time working in many places including as a clerk in a California grocery store where she met her husband, Richard. After receiving her aviation certification, Jeanette worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" during the Korean War. The couple was married in 1951. Jeanette then became a "Navy Wife" and followed her husband from base to base with their children, Dale Ann and Richard, in tow. She was a homemaker spending most of her time raising her children and following their activities. Later, taking them, and later her grandchildren, on long vacations in the family RV. She and Dale Ann took cake decorating classes which turned into celebrating family birthdays with the most lavish of cakes. Jeanette also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time with her Bible. She was a devoted woman of faith. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Raymond Robbins and Bob Drake. Those left behind to cherish her virtues and honor her memory include her daughter Dale Ann and husband Richard Decker of Enid; son Richard Taylor of Choctaw; grandchildren Amy and Steven Wilkerson of Harrah, Annette and husband Craig Allen of Arlington, TX, Westley and wife Brandy Boggs of Choctaw, Audra Wymer of Oklahoma City, Kioti Taylor of Edmond, Roqué and husband Andrew Chavis of Choctaw, Brody and wife Bailey Taylor of Choctaw; great-grandchildren Kyle Wilkerson, Brandon Boggs, Kylie Boggs, Channing Allen, Caedmon Allen, Hydie Boggs and Kellum Allen; and great-great-grandchildren Kinsley Boggs, Adeline Wilkerson, Harper Price and Liam Boggs-Sims. . Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the Asa Smith Funeral Service Memorial Chapel in Harrah. Burial will follow in the Arlington Memorial Gardens in Midwest City. The casket will be open 1-8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests those attending services and visitation follow the CDC Covid-19 guidelines of social distancing and the wearing of a mask.
