Jerry Leon Staal, 76, of Jacktown, OK, passed from this life to his reward in Heaven on October 7, 2019, at his home in Jacktown. He was born January 30, 1943 in Oklahoma City to Edward Raymond and Naomi Ruth (Shoopman) Staal. Jerry was united in marriage to Glenda Porter at Sunnymeade Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, May 31,1963 and together they raised four wonderful children. He was a high school graduate and retired from the retail grocery business. He owned Buy Right Grocery and Honest Market and worked for Buchanan’s and Humpty Dumpty stores. Jerry enjoyed fishing, watching OU and OSU football and being with his family. He was a happy man, he loved his family and loved to sing and whistle. He was a member of First Baptist Church in McLoud Ok. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Naomi Staal. He is survived by his wife Glenda Staal of Jacktown; two sons, Bruce Staal and wife Tammy of Jacktown and Chris Staal and wife April of Meeker, OK; two daughters, April Walker and her husband Mike Walker and Holly House, both of Jacktown; 7 grandchildren, Kolden Staal, Briona Staal, Ryan Staal, Donnie Tuttle, Dalton Mayes, Dillon Mayes and Logan House; and one great-grandchild, Blakely Mayes; and one sister, Mary Bacon and her husband Ron of Cheyenne, WY. and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 at First Baptist Church, McLoud officiated by Pastors Matthew Halstead, Ray Nida and Larry Sparks.
