Joe Gilbert Formby

Longtime Harrah resident Joe Gilbert Formby, 83, passed from this life in Oklahoma City on March 2, 2021. He was born in Harrah on April 16, 1937 to Minor Formby and Ruth Waner Formby. He grew up in Harrah and graduated from Harrah High School. He had a Master's Degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma, and was employed by the U. S. Government in that capacity. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jean Anderson Formby, the daughter of Harrah pioneers Louie and Polly Anderson, and a brother Lloyd Formby. Survivors include sons, Steve and wife Cecelia Smith of Oklahoma City, Joel and wife Laura Formby of Norman, OK. Michael and wife Linda Formby of Highlands Ranch, CO; Rocky and wife Lann Smith of Katy, TX, Michael Smith of Edmond and Kevin Smith of Oklahoma City; daughters Jana Hunt and husband Jeff of Erin, CO and Jill Allbritton of Harrah. Private graveside services will be held with the family.
