Juna Var (June) Manek, 95, of Harrah passed from this life on January 12, 2020 in Harrah, OK. She was born April 9, 1924 to Harry Weaver and Emma Christian Weaver in Graham, OK. June married Steve Manek in Oklahoma City, OK on November 23, 1946 She had lived in Harrah since 1953. She operated June’s Beauty Shop as a beautician and made picture frames, working for Agee Woodworks for 20 years. She was one of the legendary Rosie the Riveter ladies, working in the Richmond, CA Shipyards during WW II. She made beautiful quilts and loved to cook. She also enjoyed dancing and going different places on vacation. June loved to shop and enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with her brothers and sisters. She also enjoyed listening and dancing to country music. June grew a large garden and loved canning vegetables. She particularly loved little babies and enjoyed babysitting. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Steve; two brothers, Leon Weaver and Harry Weaver; and children, Myra Manek and Billy Manek. She is survived by her daughter, Majell Marshall of Harrah; two sons, Danny Manek and wife Denise of Harrah, OK and Sammy Manek and wife Jerri of Shawnee; three sisters, Doris Garner of Merced, CA, Carolyn Haynes of Norman, OK, Mary Jones of Mansville, OK; one brother, Reese Weaver of Davis, OK; 7 grandchildren, Cindy Shelby, Cheryl Loesch, Kelley Black, Cody Manek, Ben Manek, Phillip Cowley and Jeremy Cowley; and 19 great-grandchildren.
