Lawrence Lloyd Beitz, Jr

Lawrence Lloyd Beitz, Jr., 86, of Harrah, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Harrah Nursing Center. Lawrence was born April 12, 1937, in Oklahoma City, to Lawrence L. Beitz, Sr. and Juanita Violet (Small) Beitz. He was reared and educated all over Oklahoma, he graduated from Newcastle High School in 1955. He married Victoria (Skorkowsky) Mowry on June 2, 1980. The couple made their home in Harrah. Lawrence was a carpenter and builder of fine custom homes, owning and operating Beitz Custom Homes and Remodeling. Lawrence suffered a stroke at an early age, but the incident merely slowed him down but never beat him. He continued to work, building his own custom home as well. Later in life he enjoyed raising chickens and other livestock, tending his gardens and was an expert in the kitchen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter April Locke, and sister Shirley Roberts.

Survivors include his wife Victoria of the home; daughters Suzette and husband George Skorkowsky of Harrah, Letty and husband Jeff Hamm of Choctaw; step-son Johnny Mowry of Harrah; step-daughter Tracy VanHove of Texas; brother Clifford Beitz of Tahlequah; sister Juanita Foster of Holdenville; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Asa Smith Funeral Service Chapel of Harrah. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery. Pastor Gary Eubanks will officiate.
