Lee Carl Bauman, 76, of McLoud, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Saturday, August 28, 2021, surrounded by family. Lee was born December 14, 1944 to Robert and Ruth Bauman in Nowata, Oklahoma. He grew up in Nowata with his three siblings, Robert Bauman Jr., Paul Bauman, and sister Carol Black. Lee graduated from Nowata High School in 1963 and served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1967. He married Kathy Dushack on February 24, 1973. They moved to McLoud, OK in 1976 and together they raised four children; Debbie and Steven Dushack, Brian and Duane Bauman. Lee was an extremely hard worker. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a jet engine mechanic and as a supervisor. In addition to his full time job he drove a truck hauling gasoline all over Oklahoma and surrounding states on nights and weekends to help make ends meet. He retired from Tinker in 2000 after 31 years of dedicated and faithful service. Lee is preceded in death by his son Brian Lee Bauman; his two brothers, Robert Bauman Jr and Paul Bauman and his parents Robert and Ruth Bauman. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy, his children Debbie Hayes and son in law Russell of Sherman, Texas; Steven Dushack and daughter in law Angella of Meeker, OK; Duane Bauman and daughter in law Suzanne of Harrah, Oklahoma. His sister, Carol Black and brother-in-law Anthony of Eufaula, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, Jacob, Kyle, Kaeli, Chris, Kierstin, Zachary, Abby, Elijah, Dalton, Jonathan, Taryn and Grace; great grandchildren, Charleigh, Brooks, Amelia, and the fourth to arrive in March 2021. Sisters in law, Gwen and Teri Bauman; niece Alexandria Hart and nephew Dustin Hart. Lee was an avid golfer for many years and collected golf balls by the hundreds! He enjoyed time fishing at Lake Eufaula. He was a Nascar fan, an OU fan, and never missed an episode of Jeopardy! He was always up for breakfast at Harley’s Café with his son and granddaughters. Lee was a good dad and grandpa who built a playhouse in the backyard, gardened with the kids and taught them how to play cards! He will be greatly missed.
