Lester George Biggs

Lester George Biggs, 89, of Newalla, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021, at his residence with his family by his side. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at the IOOF Cemetery of Noble. Friends may pay their respects 9:00 am to Noon, Wednesday at the funeral home. Lester was born January 5, 1932, in his grandparent’s home near Hitchcock, Oklahoma, to James and Albina (Pospisil) Biggs. He was reared and educated in Hitchcock in 1950, and a short time later was drafted into the US Army. He was assigned to a radar unit at Hanford, Washington, obtaining the rank of sergeant before his honorable discharge in 1954. Lester worked as a Packaging Specialist for Tinker Air Force Base for 28 years. After retirement, he and Elda wintered in south Texas and traveling around the United States and Canada. Lester enjoyed helping others and making the weekly flea market, buying things that were broke so he could fix them. Lester married Maxene Coles on August 31, 1957. Survivors include his wife Maxene of the home; Larry and wife Laura K. Biggs of Newalla, Patricia and husband Michael Kubier of Tulsa, Teresa Webb and companion Joseph Hill of Harrah, Leslie and wife Myrna Biggs of Gray Court, South Carolina, Lesa and husband David Garrison of Wanette; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
