Linda Janette Fugate, 71, of Choctaw passed from this life to her rewards and was reunited with friends and loved ones in Heaven on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at her home in Choctaw. She was born to Loyd Vernon and Clara (Ingram) Withrow on January 29, 1948 in Newalla, OK. Linda was employed as a Loan Officer for the Small Business Administration for 30+ years. She was passionate about playing the piano, starting when she was 12 years old. She was a piano teacher and church pianist for more than 50 years. She loved her family, especially the cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Linda was a professional back seat driver and loved to be in charge of everything. She inspired a favorite family term: You’ve been “Withrow’d.” She did not profess to be an excellent cook but could make delicious lemon bars. She absolutely refused to be caught working outside and especially hated yard work! Linda was also well known for her wonderful laugh, endearing smile, and great sense of humor. Her quick wit and one-liners were unmatched. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Newalla, a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of McLoud, First Baptist Church, McLoud, Menneha Baptist Church and Choctaw Road Baptist Church. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Kenneth Withrow and Ronnie Withrow; and one brother in law Gerald White. Survivors include her husband James Fugate; children Tracy and Terry Qualls of McLoud and John Fugate of Choctaw; grandchildren Cody Mosley and wife Chelsea, and Samuel Fugate; and one great-grandchild Lincoln Mosley; sister Jacaquita White; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 6 at 2 p.m. at Choctaw Road Baptist Church followed by interment in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah. Visitation will begin 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 5 with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Asa Smith Funeral Home. Condolences and tributes may be posted on the funeral home web-site www.asasmith.net.
