Louella Rose Benedix, 71, passed away on Friday evening, March 22, 2024, in Harrah, Oklahoma.
Louella was born on October 14, 1952, to Richard August and Lora Jean (Forget’) Benedix in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended school in Harrah, graduating from Harrah High School in 1970. After high school, she attended East Central University in Ada, Ok for several years. In 1974, Louella started working for the State of Oklahoma Tax Commission. She retired from the tax commission in May of 2008. Louella lived in Midwest City and Oklahoma City, Ok, from the early 1990s until she moved back home to Harrah in 2013.
After retirement Louella enjoyed taking road trips, especially with her mom and nieces. She liked to crotchet and was an artist. She was a lover of animals of all kinds: birds, cats, and dogs. In her later years, she enjoyed birdwatching and watching hummingbirds outside her nursing home window. As an avid Oklahoma City Thunder fan, Louella watched every game and could tell you anything and everything Thunder related.
Louella was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Lora Benedix.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Donna Benedix; nieces, Lyndsay Oehler and her husband JR, and Alysha Taylor and her husband, Dyllan; a great-niece, Britney Oehler; a great-nephew, Zayden Hickman; as well as a host of cousins, other family members, and friends.
