Louise Margaret Burghart

Louise Margaret Burghart, 81, of Harrah, passed at her home on Sunday, March 19, 2023. Louise was born January 21, 1942, in Harrah, to Martin and Sophie (Atamanczyk) Kupczynski. She was reared and educated in Harrah, attending local schools. Later, she completed a master’s degree in education. She taught school, both full time and as a sub in Harrah, Choctaw, and Nicoma Park Special Education Departments. She spent most of her working life working at Tinker Air Force Base as a Contractor. She was a dedicated employee and worked tirelessly to complete her projects on time and under budget. She retired from Tinker in 2007.

Louise was driven to strive for perfection in all she did. At work and at home. Her children, grandchildren, and later great grandchildren were her greatest treasure and deepest love. She loved to make daily contact with her children, even as they grew into adults. She taught them the same values of hard work and dedication to family. She drove her son Keith to many doctors’ appointments and encouraged him daily.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, several siblings and a granddaughter Tara.

Those left to honor her life and cherish her memory include her daughter Jammie Sawyer of Midwest City; sons Keith and wife Heather Burghart of Oklahoma City, Darryl and wife Cathy Burghart of Harrah, Jason and wife Elizabeth Burghart of Oklahoma City; two sisters Vicky Hyams of Sapulpa, Rosalie Stamper of Harrah; grandchildren Devri and wife Holly Morgan, Sasha and husband Oscar Rangel, Tiffany Holman, Chad and wife Kate Burghart, Morgan Burghart, Rian Burghart, Joshua and wife Rayna Burghart, Jessica and husband Patrick Crain; great-grandchildren Joseph, Gabriel, Izaiah, Maliki, Raelyn, Ashlyn, Bryce, Jake, Hannah, Callie, Tara, Bailey, Hayden, Madeline, and Kaison. She also leaves behind a very special friend James Young of Harrah.

The Rosary will be recited 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2023, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church to be followed by a Wake Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Saturday Morning at the Church. Burial will follow in the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Cemetery.
