Lt. Col. (Ret.) Larry Allyn Donathan, 72, of Choctaw left this life on May 31, 2019 in Choctaw. He was born in Henryetta, OK. on September 7, 1946 to James and Sue Ella Grubb Walker. Larry and Bonnie were married in Charleston, SC on November 11, 1989. He received his BA from East Central State University, Ada, and several advanced degrees from Webster. He served for 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He then contracted to train pilots on military duty. Larry enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing and held memberships in numerous military organizations. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially when the University of Oklahoma was involved. He was preceded in death by his parents James W. Donathan and Sue Ella (Grubb) Walker. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie L Donathan; a daughter Kerri Donathan Cloud and husband John; a son Mark Allyn Donathan and wife Margaret; three stepsons Phil Maull and wife Penny, Timothy W. Maull and wife Sherry and Wilford Trey Mathews; a sister Janet Harrington and husband C. D., a brother Brian Donathan and wife Billie; two granddaughters, nine grandsons, five great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and a host of friends. The family will receive guests at Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah, on Thursday, June 6 from 5 to 8 p. m. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at Choctaw Road Baptist Church under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service. Interment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC.
