Maida June Henry

MAIDA PATTERSON HENRY Maida June Patterson Henry, 94, passed away on December 12, 2020 in Harrah. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on December 16, 2020 at Asa Smith Funeral Service. Mrs. Henry was born on September 30, 1926 in Forth Worth, Texas to Walter Lee and Pearl Jones Patterson. She attended school at Karo Elementary School and Nevada High School in the Copeville/Farmersville, Texas area. She married James M. Henry of Dallas, Texas on July 23, 1945. They lived around the Dallas area for several years until James was called to the ministry and pastored churches in Texas and Oklahoma, where they settled. Maida was a medical transcriptionist and eventually helped James run their own business in Wister, OK. They retired to Newalla, Oklahoma to be near their children. Maida loved to garden, crafting and reading. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newalla for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Henry; her parents and her sister, Lanelle Sumrow. She is survived by her four children, Richard Henry of Harrah, Vickie Gregory and her husband Steve of Newalla, Kathie Buchanan and her husband Johnny of Harrah, Tim Henry of Lake Texoma; Neice, Cindy Sumrow Krantz of Winnsboro, TX; Nephew, Phil Sumrow and his wife Vivian of Pittsburgh, TX; 8 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
