Marilyn Lavon Condrey

Marilyn Lavon Condrey, 86, of Edmond, formerly of Harrah, passed Tuesday, at Stone Creek Assisted Living in Edmond. Marilyn was born January 28, 1937, in El Reno, to Joseph and Alma May “Babe” (Kelley) Clements. She was diagnosed with Polio at an early age and fought hard to lead a “normal” physical life. She was reared and educated in Nicoma Park. She, later, graduated from Choctaw High School in 1955. Marilyn married Bill Thompson in 1956, the couple welcomed two sons and were later divorced. She married David Condrey in 1964, and had a daughter, and later, adopted a son. The family later moved to the Harrah/McLoud area. Marilyn worked as a secretary for a couple of doctors before going to work at Tinker Air Force Base as a secretary and later as administrative assistant in the purchasing department, until she retired in 1988. Marilyn was an excellent seamstress, making shirts for her sons and dresses for her daughter and sisters, including prom dresses and wedding dresses. Later she became an accomplished quilt maker giving many away to family and friends. Marilyn was a long time, devoted member of the Harrah Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David and a son Chad Condrey, and siblings Gee Marshall, and Irma Jo Clements.

Survivors include her sons Mark and wife Melissa Thompson of Mustang, Bill and wife Shelley Thompson of Edmond; daughter Karen and husband Gary Lashley of Edmond; brothers Raymond “Pete” and wife Gaylia Clements of Choctaw, Stanley “Sam” and wife Madeline Clements of Del City; sisters Carol Simmons of League City, Texas, Joyce Couch of Shawnee, Nancy Geschwind of MWC, Lucy Ketch of Shawnee, and Donna and husband Benji Webb of Choctaw; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The casket will be open from 9:00 am to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Asa Smith Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery.
