Marvin Marshall Munger Jr.

Marvin Marshall Munger Jr., 74, of Harrah passed from this life to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and a host of family and friends in Heaven on November 18, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born June 12, 1944 to Marvin M. and Mary Elizabeth Darnall Munger in Stillwater, OK. He grew up in Stillwater and graduated from C. E. Donart High School. He and Donna Ruth Thomas were married on November 4 in Oklahoma City and recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Marvin attended Oklahoma State University and Central State University and established Munger Paint and Wall Covering in 1977 in Warr Acres. Marvin was a deacon at First Baptist Church, Harrah, and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. He was employed by Pittsburgh Paint Co. in Oklahoma City and Lawton and also worked for Chuck’s Paint and Paper in Stillwater. He enjoyed OSU football and wrestling and also watching his grandchildren play basketball at Harrah. Marvin enjoyed fishing and was a gifted and talented story teller. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Karen Sue Griffith. Survivors include his beloved wife, Donna; a son Curt and wife Dana of Harrah and a daughter Marnie Smith of Harrah; 5 grandchildren, Zac Mack and wife Erica of Ft. Drum, NY, Garrett Munger of Crowder, OK, Molly Munger of Harrah, Amy and husband Caleb Reiter of Edmond and Jaydee Smith of Harrah; and great-grandchildren, Kambri and Rhett Mack of Ft. Drum, NY. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23 at First Baptist Church Harrah followed by interment at Memory Lane Cemetery under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah.
