MARY K. DREW

Mary Kathryn “Babe” Drew, 92, longtime member of the Harrah community, passed from this life on March12, 2025, at her home in Harrah. She was born to John and Josephine Zielny in Britton, OK on September 23, 1932.

She graduated from John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City in 1950 and married Joe V. Drew on October 17, 1950, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Harrah. She was a past member of the St. Teresa Rosary Altar Society and a member of the Harrah community for more than 75 years.

Mary was a devoted mother, always encouraging and supportive of her children and her family Her everyday passions included cooking, gardening and babysitting her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and was an avid reader and loved telling stories. Mary was also fond of puzzles, visiting her friends, fishing, raising chickens and going to Mary’s Flea Market.

Mary worked for Midwest City Hospital in the 1970’s in housekeeping. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many people and she was well known for helping others. She also enjoyed traveling to other states to visit family members over the years. Mary hosted many family holiday gatherings where her home was filled with laughter, love, fellowship and delicious food.

This lady found great joy and creativity in designing and making quilts for all her family members and always made sure that all new babies in the family had a quilt. While her absence will be deeply felt, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who cherished her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Zielny; husband Joe V. Drew; sons Daniel and Patrick Drew, brother Edward (Lorayne) Zielny and sister Dorothy (Dick) Nusz

Survivors include her children Robert (Bob) Drew, Mary Jane Molnar (Alex), Margaret Stoelting (Ray), John Drew (Angela); daughters in law Nancy Drew and Rosie Drew; 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, with Rosary at 10 a.m. and Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Harrah.
