Mary Louise Carter

Mary Louise Carter, 88, of Edmond, OK, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, left this life on July 10, 2019, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born January 25, 1931, in Little Rock, AR, to George Alexander and Mae Vernon (Murphy) Rauch. Mary Lou received a Master's Degree in Psychology from UCO and was a retired licensed professional counselor. She loved animals, nature, and being outdoors. Music was an important part of her life as was spending time with family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother George Rauch, Jr., and sister Adele Ward. She is survived by a son George Ben Carter; daughter Elizabeth Carter Smith and husband Cass, daughter Cindy Carter; sister Isabel Gale; and grandchildren, Britta Smith Lay and husband Jeremy and Bridger Smith. A private ceremony of remembrance for family and close friends will take place in the fall of 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Free To Live Animal Sanctuary and the Arthritis Foundation.
