Melvetta Lavern Martin

Melvetta LaVern Martin, 86, of McLoud, OK, passed from this life to her rewards in Heaven on October 29, 2020 at her home. She was born January 26, 1934, to Bert Morris and Willie Victoria Campbell Morris in McAlester, OK. She was employed as a warehouse supervisor at Tinker Air Force Base before retirement. Melvetta enjoyed fishing and camping and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, four sisters and her grandson, Matthew Grace. Survivors include three daughters, Lavetta Roth of McLoud, Loretta Ledford of McLoud and Diana Archer of Shawnee; two step-sons, Gary Martin of Stella and Bruce Martin of Yukon; a sister Jane Smart of Shawnee; 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and one on the way. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel followed by interment in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery with Pastor R. J. Stokes officiating.
