MELVIN D. ROBERSON Our beloved father, grandfather and brother Melvin D. Roberson, 67, of Harrah, left this life on February 20, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born April 17, 1950 in Shawnee, OK to Dwight and Charlene Parsons Roberson. He graduated from Seminole High School in 1968 and enlisted in the U.S Army in 1970 where he spent the next 2 years. He moved from Midwest City to the Harrah area in 1979. He worked as a Planner at Tinker Air Force Base for 32 years while also obtaining a degree from Oklahoma State University. He retired in 2004 to become a full time papa. He was an avid sports fan that loved to watch his grandsons play. Until his health declined he could be found running the chains for the Harrah Panthers on Friday nights. He had a special relationship with his son-in-law, John, who was his caregiver, chef ,chauffeur and confidant for his final years.. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humor and as a proud, strong-willed man. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Phil Roberson and sister Donna Sue Hilton. Survivors include two sons, Aaron and Patrick Roberson, both of Harrah; and a daughter Jill Dolan and husband John of Jones; four grandchildren Logan Roberson, Bricen Roberson and Jeff Roberson, all of Harrah, and Jonathan Dolan of Jones; two sisters, Patricia Phillips of Ada and Jennifer Keefer of Norman. A reception honoring Melvin will be held at Asa Smith Funeral Service in Harrah on Friday, March 2 from 3-6 p.m.
