Morris Ben Steincamp

Morris Ben Steincamp, 66, of Harrah, formerly of Oklahoma City, died Friday, July 1, 2022, at his residence. Morris was born May 14, 1956, in Kilgore, Texas, to Sam Ben and Maxine Nova (Morris) Steincamp. He was reared and educated in Oklahoma City. He, later, graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Morris worked in the oil industry all of his life, like his father. During the last 20+ years owning and operating Morris Instrument and Controls in Oklahoma City. He married Wynnette (Marlow) Mackenzie on February 14, 1993, in Oklahoma City. The couple made their home there until moving to Harrah five years ago. The couple enjoyed spending their weekends at their home at Lake Eufaula. The couple hosted Halloween Pumpkin carving parties. Morris was a hard-working man, he was an avid fisherman in his younger years, but later in life, he had left that to others, while he did the cooking. He followed Chicago Cubs Baseball and Oklahoma State University Football. He loved Christmas but, enjoyed giving far more than receiving. In his youth he played tennis and loved to snow ski. Morris also enjoyed all sorts of animals, especially birds and his Corgis, the last being his beloved “Gracie”. Survivors include his wife Wynnette of the home; daughter Roberta Mackenzie of Oklahoma City; nephew Matthew and wife Jennifer Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Laura Jones. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel in Harrah. Pastor Justin Gentry will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to your local animal shelter or humane society. Arrangements are under of the care of Asa Smith Funeral Services of Harrah.
