Nancy Dunham

NANCY RAE DUNHAM Nancy Rae Dunham, 89, of Newalla passed from this life to her rewards in Heaven and a reunion with a host of loved ones and dear friends on Christmas Day, 2020 in Norman, OK. She was born October 19, 1931 to Lester Ray Pool and LaFerry Hamm Pool in Hugo, OK. She graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City in 1949 and married Bob Dunham on July 4, 1963 in Kansas. Nancy was an educator her whole life, most recently at Eastern Oklahoma Country Vo-Tech School in Choctaw before her retirement in 1999. She was very involved with sports, both as a participant, playing tennis and coaching softball and basketball for her daughters. She loved horses and was huge sports fan, rooting for the Thunder and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Nancy also loved Western movies. But most of all, she loved her grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert Dunham in March 2011, and grandson Carson Welch. She is survived by two daughters, Denise Dunham of Norman and Debbie and husband Scott Welch of Norman; and two grandchildren, Sheridan and Skyler Welch, both of Norman. Private graveside services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at noon Thursday, Dec. 31 under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah.
