Neil Ray Laughlin

Neil Ray Laughlin, 80, of Wellston, He passed from this life with his earthly family by his side and joined his parents and sisters in the Heavenly Kingdom, Friday, October 20, 2023.

Neil was born October 22, 1942, in Oklahoma City, to Robert Eugene and Beatrice Bernice (Beets) Laughlin. He was reared and educated in Oklahoma City, graduating from Capitol Hill High School in 1960. He joined the United State Air Force, serving for two years. Neil married Patricia “Pat” Smith in Oklahoma City on February 26, 1965. He was a longtime employee of Southwestern Bell, starting as a lineman, then became a repair supervisor before retiring in the 1990’s. He went back to work for a short time retiring for good in 2002. Neil was hardworking, honest man who strove to take great care of his wife and children. He was a dedicated servant of the Lord and unashamed to make sure each person had a chance to know the name of Jesus. He was known to be able to fix just about anything, he loved to piddle around the house “tinkering” all the time. He enjoyed football and NASCAR he loved to tease those around him with his playful sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Glenda Laughlin and Shirley Ledbetter.

Those surviving to cherish his memory and mourn his death include his wife Pat of the home; daughter Angie Chambers, son Randal Laughlin both of Wellston; daughter Melinda and husband Stephen Lloyd of Newalla; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Ferrell Cemetery, of Harrah. Pastor Tuney Ropp will officiate.

The casket will be closed but friends are welcome to come pay their respects 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
